Investor Awareness Program

An enlightening session on investor awareness was conducted on 26th April, 2023, by Mili Paul Ma’am from CDSL, a leading depository service provider in India. The webinar aimed to equip students with fundamental knowledge about investment planning, deposits, passive income, stocks, mutual funds, and gold investments. As finance-related information often remains inaccessible to many until they encounter it during their academic journey, this session served as a valuable opportunity for students to gain insights into safe investment practices and financial literacy. Mili Paul Ma’am’s expertise and guidance provided a solid foundation for students to navigate the intricacies of investment, empowering them to make informed financial decisions for their future.

The interactive nature of the webinar allowed students to actively engage with the material, asking questions and seeking clarification on various investment concepts. Mili Paul Ma’am’s comprehensive explanations and real-world examples resonated with the participants, demystifying complex financial topics and instilling confidence in their understanding. Moreover, the session fostered a sense of responsibility among students towards their financial well-being, encouraging them to adopt prudent investment strategies and cultivate a habit of financial planning from an early stage. Overall, the investor awareness program proved to be an invaluable resource for students, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the financial landscape with confidence and foresight.

Joy Of Giving Event

Our lives are fulfilling when we give and share, and that great inner joy comes from helping others to better their lives. Following this mantra, a jumble sale was organized by Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur (SIBC) from 6th to 8th October, inviting the community to bring in useful, unused, or gently used items such as clothes, school bags, kitchen utensils, casseroles, etc., of utility value for the use of the underprivileged section of our society. The students were encouraged to collect these items from their households, neighbours, friends, and family members. All the goods brought in by our college students and also from the extended community were put on sale in an exhibition organized at the Mahatma Education Society’s New Panvel campus. These goods were sold at a price range of Rs. 10-100 with the intention to provide an opportunity for economically less privileged people to purchase useful goods and also to instil a sense of pride in ownership.

The money collected from this sale was further utilized for the benefit of the underprivileged group. The students of Pillai College of Education and Research are always imbued with the value that giving is far more valuable than receiving. Our students responded wholeheartedly to this wonderful initiative and packed their items in a very presentable manner to be further donated during the exhibition. In conclusion, the jumble sale organized by Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur (SIBC) from 6th to 8th October served as a testament to the power of community and compassion. Through the collective effort of our college students and the extended community, valuable items were collected and made available to the underprivileged at affordable prices. This initiative not only provided essential goods to those in need but also fostered a sense of dignity and pride in ownership. Moreover, the proceeds from the sale were reinvested back into the community, further amplifying the impact of this altruistic endeavor.
