Literary Exchange Programme

The club conducted a Literary Exchange Programme on 19th March, 2012. The English, Hindi and Marathi method students participated in this programme. Student shared the works of their favourite authors and poets in the form of stories, poems and description of special characters.
Fun with Prepositions
9th March, 2012
A workshop on “Fun with Prepositions” was organized for the English method students on 9th March, 2012. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Sudha Nair, an experienced Secondary School teacher. This workshop taught the students different activities that could be used to teach prepositions and prepositional phrases. It helped everyone realize how prepositions, if not carefully used, can change the meaning of a sentence.
Extempore Competition
7th March, 2012
An Extempore Competition was organized on 7th March, 2012 wherein the students were asked to articulate on the topic ‘An ideal B. Ed. College’. A mono acting competition was also arranged on the same day. These competitions helped the students to gain confidence and removed their phobia of speaking and acting in public. It also helped to cultivate their linguistic skills, voice modulation and expression. The students were allowed to use English, Hindi or Marathi.
One Day International Workshop on “Creative Approaches for Teaching English and History”

Student-teachers, Mrs. Nisha Pande, Mrs. Sonia Vaid and Mrs. Shailaja Kinagi accompanied by Asst. Prof. Mrs. Bhavna Dave and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pratima Pradhan attended and participated in the One Day International Workshop on “Creative Approaches for Teaching English and History” organized by Guru Nanak College of Education and Research on 14th September, 2011. These approaches were then shared with the other students in the college in the English method class.
