Celebrating Rabindranath Tagore: A Literary Tribute

The Literary Club conducted a special program on 7th May, 2024, in honour of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary. Ms. Ananya Bhattacharjee delivered a moving speech in Bengali, eloquently capturing Tagore’s enduring legacy and literary contributions. The program also featured a documentary on Tagore’s life, enriching the audience’s understanding of his profound impact on literature and culture. This event was a poignant celebration of Tagore’s birthday, emphasizing his timeless influence and inspiring the appreciation of his remarkable literary achievements.

Celebrating Verse: Poem Recitation

In honour of World Poetry Day, the Literary Club organized a captivating poem recitation competition. More than 5 or 6 students enthusiastically prepared and presented their own poems, showcasing their literary talents. Assistant Professor Shruti Nair also participated, adding to the event’s charm. Each participant brought their printed or handwritten copies of their poems, which were displayed on the notice board, enriching our college with a display of creative expression. The competition not only celebrated the art of poetry but also encouraged a deeper appreciation for literature among students and faculty alike.

Introduction of New Vocabulary in Morning Assembly

Effective from 4th January, 2024, the Literary Club had decided to introduce new vocabulary during the morning assembly. Each student participated in this activity according to their roll number, with three new words being introduced daily. The student presenting the words also provide their meanings and randomly select students to form sentences using the new vocabulary. This initiative enhanced students’ language skills and vocabulary in an engaging manner

Bhartiya Bhasha Divas

Celebrating Linguistic Diversity: Bhartiya Bhasha Divas
The Literary Club marked Bhartiya Bhasha Divas with a Mother Tongue Extemporaneous Competition. This cultural gathering resonated with speeches in Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi, Hindi, and Marwari, celebrating India’s linguistic richness. Assistant Professor Manju Vinish’s welcome speech encouraged widespread participation. The event, held in a vibrant setting adorned with cultural motifs, underscored the importance of native languages. Students enthusiastically showcased their oratory talents, highlighting the club’s dedication to fostering linguistic diversity and cultural exchange.

Hindi Bhasha Samman

Hindi Bhasha Samman
A session was organized on September 16th September 2023 to honor Hindi Language. The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal to promote linguistic diversity and cultural appreciation among its students. The event was filled with various activities that showcased the beauty and cultural richness of the Hindi language. The programme was anchored by Ruchita Kadu and Umaima Dhature. The welcome speech was delivered by Seemran Sahaani, General Secretary S.Y. B.Ed. who eloquently welcomed everyone and emphasized the importance of celebrating Hindi Diwas. She highlighted how language is not just a means of communication but also a medium that binds us together as a nation. A vibrant and energetic dance by Priya Menon and Prajakta. put up a spectacular dance. Zainab Sayyed, Snehalata and Supriti recited beautiful Hindi poems that celebrated the beauty of the language. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Divya Samota, Council Member. She expressed gratitude to all the participants and teachers who contributed to the success of the celebration.
