Leprosy Awareness Programme

To expose students to the scientific information on leprosy & to spread the word that leprosy is a curable disease, an awareness programme was arranged by P.C.E.R. Alert-India, an association for Leprosy Education, Rehabilitation & Treatment was invited to college. Their representatives Ms. Ipshita De & her assistant presented an audio-visual educational film which aimed at dispelling age-old myths and common fallacies associated with this completely curable disease. The students also cleared their doubts in the session. On a voluntary basis, students also participated in the donation-card drive. This gave the students an opportunity to spread facts about leprosy in their neighbourhood. Our student, Ms. Kumud received an award from the Governor for collecting a big amount for the leprosy patients. It was indeed an earnest service to humanity.
